A Lancastrian who has worked in digital electronics, robotics and machine code programming has been named as the new chairman of Lancashire CC.

Cllr Geoffrey Roper was recently sworn in as chairman at a meeting of the full county council, and succeeds Cllr Chris Holtom. Cllr Roper has represented Poulton-le-Fylde on the council since 1985.
