Two Rotherham councillors, one still serving and one former elected member, have been embroiled in the child abuse scandal which saw at least 1,400 girls exploited over a 16 year period, it has been reported.
The allegations were made in the national press ahead of today's long-awaited publication of Louise Casey's independent report into what happened at the local authority between 1997 and 2013.
Reports in The Times today claim complaints against the two councillors have been forwarded on to the National Crime Agency, and also claims allegations made against a police officer of collusion with abusers preying on girls has been sent to the police watchdog by South Yorkshire Police.
