Rochdale MBC has selected Burnley BC boss Steve Rumbelow as the authority's new chief executive, following a protracted recruitment process.

Mr Rumbelow, a local government veteran with more than 30 years of experience, has been chief executive at Burnley since 2006. He was previously strategic director for Manchester City Council with oversight for housing strategy and regeneration.
