Rural growth commission launched

LGA launches first-ever independent inquiry into the socio-economic potential of England’s shire and district council areas.

The Local Government Association (LGA) has launched the first-ever independent inquiry into the social and economic potential of England's shire and district council areas.

The non-political commission, which began on 27 May, is chaired by Sir John Peace who is chairman of Standard Chartered PLC and Burberry, as well as Nottinghamshire's local growth board.
