A South Somerset DC director sacked after allegedly using furloughed council staff to work on her private vineyard has withdrawn her employment tribunal claim.

A South Somerset DC director sacked after allegedly using furloughed council staff to work on her private vineyard has withdrawn her employment tribunal claim.

Director of commercial and income generation, Clare Parker (formerly Pestell), was dismissed for gross misconduct in October 2021 after an independent external investigation by Richard Penn concluded there was evidence she ‘abused her position' by asking council staff to help build glamping pods at her Dorset winery.
