Salford City Council has won a legal battle against a former director of children's services.

Salford City Council has won a legal battle against a former director of children's services who claimed unfair dismissal following the death of a child in care.

Jill Baker was dismissed for gross misconduct in December 2009, after the death of two-year-old Demi Leigh Mahon - who was murdered by her 15-year-old babysitter in July 2008 after repeated failures by social services.
