New powers awarded to schools by the Scottish Government will erode local accountability, the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) has warned.

New powers awarded to schools by the Scottish Government will erode local accountability, the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) has warned.

Schools in Scotland will now be able to directly control more school funding, decide curriculum content within a framework established by the Government, choose school staff and management structure and take on responsibility for closing the poverty-related gap.
