Council leaders have criticised government plans to award cash to rebuild just 261 dilapidated schools.

Council leaders have criticised government plans to award cash to rebuild just 261 dilapidated schools.

Education secretary, Michael Gove, said a total of 587 schools applied for funding from the five-year Priority School Building Programme – which has a budget of some £2bn.
