An influential Commons'Committee has warned accountability for devolved spending on schools is not robust enough.

Accountability for devolved spending on schools is not robust enough to ensure proper value for money, an influential Commons' Committee has warned.

Reporting on how the Department for Education allocates £56.4bn of annual funding to schools and local authorities, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) says official statements place insufficient emphasis on protecting the public purse.
