Most local authorities in Scotland have raised their council tax by around 5%, after an enforced freeze was lifted.

But some cash-strapped councils have hiked their tax rate by up to 10% in a bid to raise more cash.Orkney Council is expected to push its council tax rises up to 10%, with East Lothian, Falkirk and Stirling Councils opting for a 7% increase.
