Scots councils fury over jobs cash

A leaked document from COSLA shows scottish council chiefs fury at government ministers over funding to tackle youth unemployment.

Scottish council chiefs are furious at government ministers over the handling of a £9m fund for local authorities to tackle youth unemployment, a leaked document from the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) has revealed.

In the paper council chiefs accuse ministers of unilaterally deciding only six of Scotland's 32 councils should get any cash, and even suggests councils were told if they complained the money would not go to local government at all.
