Scots councils under spotlight over social care charges

The Scottish Government has called for greater consistency among councils.

The Scottish Government has called for greater consistency among councils after a charity claimed some are charging terminally ill people social care costs.

A survey by the charity, Motor Neurone Disease Scotland, claimed just one local authority – Fife Council – does not charge at all for personal care while others will waive charges in certain circumstances.
