Scots neighbours hook up

Dumfries and Galloway Council could become the next Scottish authority to opt for shared service delivery to cut costs and raise efficiency.

Glasgow City Council has already blazed a trail with its ‘super-council' status by forming a partnership with local health, housing, enterprise and employment agencies to share frontline service delivery. Now Dumfries and Galloway is looking to neighbouring Scottish Borders Council to form a partnership for a customer call centre. A council spokeswoman said: ‘It's at an early stage but there is a willingness to work together.'
