CIPFA Scotland has criticised the country's government for failing to publish spending plans for the period beyond 2011/12 despite knowing exactly how much they will receive from Westminster.

Angela Scott, head of CIPFA Scotland, said finance secretary John Swinney's decision last week to set out spending plans only for the next financial year failed to provide clarity over the country's long-term finances.
