The Convention of Scottish Local Authorities has called on Holyrood to pass on Whitehall cash due from changes to employers' National Insurance Contributions.

The changes have been estimated to introduce a direct cost of at least £265m for Scottish local government before additional costs for commissioned services in the third and independent sector have been taken into account. This comes on top of a £392m budget gap in 2025/26.
