A teaching union has revealed councils in Scotland have pocketed a 'shocking' £3m in profit this year.

Councils in Scotland have pocketed a 'shocking' £3m in profit this year from charging school children for music tuition, a teaching union has revealed.

According to the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS) the figures show 'many councils are charging pupils far more than is necessary to recoup the costs of music tuition'.
