Scottish Government tight-lipped over council tax rate rise speculation

The Scottish Government has refused to comment on speculation it has gone cold on plans to increase council tax rates for the highest bands.

The Scottish Government has refused to comment on speculation it has gone cold on plans to increase council tax rates for the highest bands.

There has been media speculation that proposals to increase council tax for bands E, F, G and H by between 7.5% and 22.5% may be ditched or rolled back as it was initiated mainly by Nicola Sturgeon's administration before she was replaced by Humza Yousaf.
