Scottish initiatives falling short

Joint initiatives between Scottish councils and other public sector agencies are failing to meet the mark.

A review of community planning by Audit Scotland has revealed community planning partnerships are struggling under the weight of bureaucracy, funding complexity, and tensions between partners. Accounts Commission for Scotland chairman, Alastair MacNish, said: ‘Local authorities and their partners must become more focused and show partnerships are improving public services and community wellbeing.'
