Sector gets £7m boost in run-up to Big Society

The Department of Health has given the Government’s transition fund to help charities prepare for the Big Society an extra £7m.

The Department of Health has given the Government's transition fund to help charities prepare for the Big Society an extra £7m.

The additional money brings the total fund to £107m, and last week, the Cabinet Office announced that 183 charities would receive almost £15m in payouts immediately.
