Charity bosses have warned that this year's council budget cuts are the ‘tip of the iceberg', with worse to come in 2012.

A report this week by the trade union-backed website, False Economy, suggested that more than 2,200 charities had already seen their budgets cut – by around £110m – as town halls tackled grant reductions, but several third sector groups warned the numbers involved could be much higher.
