Sedgemoor's zero levy for jobs

Sedgemoor DC has recommended setting a zero-rated community infrastructure levy for new employment developments.

Sedgemoor DC has recommended setting a zero-rated community infrastructure levy (CIL) for new employment developments – which could encompass the new nuclear power station at the existing Hinkley Point facility.

Launching a six-week consultation, which ends on 25 September, the council has suggested a charge of £50 per square metre for new residential areas in towns, rising to £150 per square metre in rural parts of the district.
