Local area partnerships across the country are facing challenges in delivering quality provision and support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Hertfordshire is no different.
We have been grappling with significant demand on services, challenges with workforce recruitment and budget shortages, but we are committed to improve the services that children and young people with SEND in Hertfordshire receive. We implemented a new SEND strategy in 2022, have been creating hundreds of new special school places, instigated earlier help and additional funding for mainstream schools and targeted dispute resolution.
