Barnsley Council is facing the future with confidence and ambition. We are undergoing a huge change programme designed to make us more customer focused, flexible and business-like. This means not only a new, leaner structure, with three Directorates covering People, Place and Communities, but a new attitude and approach across the organisation to our service delivery.

 We will be looking to recruit to a number of new roles as part
of our change programme. Our Service Director for Economic
Regeneration will lead a broad range of key services vital to
Barnsley's growth, including inward investment, planning and
development, major projects and skills. We therefore need
candidates with strong partnership skills, able to work closely
with businesses, support the development of major schemes
and, of course, encourage jobs and opportunities for our
communities.
