Services for children under Ofsted scrutiny

Councils must improve their performance in the delivery of extended services for children and young people, according to a new Ofsted report.

While recognising the role councils play in developing strategic plans which take account of extended services, the report also points out they do not always provide ‘consistent guidance' to settings or ‘evaluate thoroughly' their individual plans for developing the services.
