Work is already under way that will help councils develop the skills and capacity of their workforces to meet the challenges which lie ahead, says Michael Coughlin.

The 'future funding modelling' undertaken by the Local Government Association (LGA) has given local government as a sector – and individual councils in particular – a clear framing analysis for their work on future options and approaches.
