Housing minister Grant Shapps has launched a £420m funding house-building package and also unveiled a consultation on a revitalised 'right to buy' scheme.

The pre-Christmas announcements, forming part of the Coalition's £6.5bn spending review funding allocation for housing could respectively see 16,000 homes built on sites that are currently stalled under the Get Britain Building Fund by December 2014.
