Shifting the story in Sheffield

Sheffield City Council’s new chief executive Kate Josephs talks to Heather Jameson about her new role guiding ‘an incredible city’ through the big challenges ahead – and making it more ‘confident, and outward looking and optimistic’.

Kate Josephs is a walking, talking, tourism board for her city. The new chief executive of Sheffield City Council emerges onto a video interview with The MJ with the town hall towering virtually behind her before embarking on what is essentially her verbal love letter to the city.

‘It is just a beautiful, beautiful place. We've got the Peak District within the boundaries of the city and we've got incredible history. The people and the sense of community across the city is really, really strong,' she says.
