The Supreme Court this week blocked a government bid to challenge a landmark ruling that Sharon Shoesmith – former head of children’s services at Haringey LBC – was unfairly sacked following the ‘Baby P’ case.

The Supreme Court this week blocked a government bid to challenge a landmark ruling that Sharon Shoesmith – former head of children's services at Haringey LBC – was unfairly sacked following the ‘Baby P' case.

The Court of Appeal ruled in May that Ms Shoesmith was not dismissed in line with employment law.
