Shoesmith wins appeal against unlawful sacking

Sharon Shoesmith has won her appeal against being unlawfully sacked from her role.

Sharon Shoesmith has won her appeal against being unlawfully sacked from her role as director of children's services at Haringey LBC, the Court of Appeal has ruled.

The judgement comes after a High Court ruling last November, which had cleared the regulator Ofsted, Haringey LBC and former childrens secretary Ed Balls from acting unlawfully, when she was axed from her role in December 2008 following the Baby P case at her department.
