Showdown talks for LEP Network future

The central organisation for coordinating the work of England’s 39 local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) is due for showdown talks with growth minister Greg Clark over its limited resources, as it faces the possibility of closing down from 8 December.

The central organisation for coordinating the work of England's 39 local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) is due for showdown talks with growth minister Greg Clark over its limited resources, as it faces the possibility of closing down from 8 December.

A letter sent by LEP Network chair Alex Pratt, seen by The MJ's sister website Transport Network, read: ‘As things stand we will have no employees as of December 8 and insufficient forward funds to recruit replacements so will therefore be forced to manage a closure and handover to the Cabinet Office at the end of March.
