Simplify data sharing to beat crime says minister

Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude has warned data sharing across the public sector needs to be simplified to help frontline staff.

Data sharing across the public sector must be simplified to help frontline staff make decisions, cut bureaucracy and defeat fraudsters, Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude has warned.

Delivering the keynote address to the Information Commissioner's Conference on 6 March, Mr Maude called for an overhaul of laws and practices governing how public servants use digital technology.
