Merton LBC was announced as the best achieving council in the UK last week at The MJ's annual awards at London's Hilton Hotel, hosted by BBC Radio 4 Today presenter Justin Webb.

The London borough, whose staff are pictured collecting the award, won the Best Achieving Council category.
