South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority expects to be boosted by the integrated, departmental-style funding settlement the region will be eligible to receive from 2026-27.

A combined authority spokesperson said it hoped the settlement would ‘pave the way for greater freedoms and flexibilities to invest in projects that we know will make the biggest impact across our whole region, grow our economy and create a healthier, wealthier and happier South Yorkshire for everyone who lives and works here'.
