Care bosses have warned that plans to create two national social worker ‘tsars' could split the profession.

The Department of Health announced in April it was recruiting a single chief social worker to represent the entire industry. But, on 2 November, it confirmed that two people would now be hired – one to represent adult social work and another for children and families.
