Birmingham City Council leader, Sir Albert Bore, has announced he will step down from his post amid growing pressure for him to quit.

Birmingham City Council leader, Sir Albert Bore, has announced he will step down from his post amid growing pressure for him to quit. 

Sir Albert, who has spent 16 years as a councillor, with two separate stints as leader, faced two high profile resignations in the past week. Cabinet member James McKay resigned last week, amid claims that he had no confidence in the leadership.
