Don't top-slice sector-led improvement, authorities warn Whitehall

Urban authorities have criticised government plans to top-slice funding for sector-led improvement in 2015/16.

Urban authorities have criticised government plans to top-slice funding for sector-led improvement in 2015/16.

Funding for the Local Government Association's (LGA) improvement and development agency will be £23.4m but the Special Interest Group of Municipal Authorities (SIGOMA) said it would prefer to see ‘maximum funds directed towards frontline services'.
