Local government secretary, Eric Pickles, has taken measures to help small businesses and shopkeepers reduce their tax bills, to kick-start economic growth across England's communities.

Mr Pickles has announced a series of changes to the local business rates system, designed to maximise take-up of Small Business Rate Relief (SBRR), and give councils more control over the businesses and industries which qualify for local tax breaks.
