Local government is unlikely to see any big changes when it comes to social care because of the difficulty the new government will face in passing any legislation, according to a think-tank boss.
Localis chief executive Liam Booth-Smith said: ‘Because social care was toxified during the election campagin it is unlikely that we will see any big radicalisation on it. It would be too difficult to get through parliament. The enthusiasm for taking that on is greatly diminished.'
