Social care spending falls by 1%

Spending on adult social care by councils in England fell by 1% last year in real terms, according to the latest official figures.

Spending on adult social care by councils in England fell by 1% last year in real terms, according to the latest official figures.

A report published today by the Health and Social Care Information Centre revealed that gross current expenditure in 2010/11 was £17bn compared to £16.8bn in 2009/10.
