According to a report by GSCC councils are maintaining the number of placements for social work students, despite financial challenges.

Councils are maintaining the number of placements for social work students, despite severe financial challenges, according to a new report by the General Social Care Council (GSCC).

The report said the supply of practice placements had remained stable over the last three years, despite the rising number of students enrolling for social work degrees. More than 450 employers were surveyed, and the organisations all reported that they valued the experience of having students on placements.
