Social workers have a key role in helping disabled people get more active

An evaluation of the Get Yourself Active programme, which sought to identify ways to boost participation of disabled people in sport and physical activity, has concluded that social workers have a key role to play, says Leanne Wightman

Seven years on, there is the occasional debate about the legacy of the London Olympics in terms of participation in sport and physical activity.

It is rare for such discussion to include the impact of the Paralympics – which were widely seen to be the most successful ever.
