Solving an age-old problem

The recent report by former NatWest group chief executive, Sir Derek Wanless, has called for some radical thinking when it comes to the future of social care for older people.

The Wanless review, which was commissioned by the King's Fund, concluded that not only was more money needed to deal with the increasing number of older people in this country, but the current means-testing funding system should be scrapped and replaced with a new partnership model.
