North Somerset Council has become the latest authority to announce plans to merge health and social care services.

North Somerset Council has become the latest authority to announce plans to merge health and social care services with its local NHS trust.

The council's executive approved plans to create an integrated care organisation from April 2013 onwards, through a partnership with the Weston Area Health NHS Trust. The partnership will include Weston General Hospital, community health and social care.
