A forensic dissection of how the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed and worsened health inequalities in Greater Manchester has revealed enormous falls in life expectancy over the past year.

The latest report from leading public health expert Professor Sir Michael Marmot and his team shows that life expectancy fell across England, but the decline was much sharper in the north west region.
