Southampton confirms 200 posts will be axed

Southampton City Council votes to make further 200 redundancies as part of next year’s budget.

 Around 200 posts at Southampton City Council will be scrapped as part of next year's budget, it has been confirmed.

Local councillors voted yesterday in favour of the budget, which also includes a council tax freeze and a commitment to retain weekly bin collections and keep all Sure Start centres open.
