Sparks backs report on two-speed devolution

There needs to be a ‘root and branch review of the form and function of local government’, chair of the Independent Commission on Local Government Finance, Darra Singh, has claimed.

There needs to be a ‘root and branch review of the form and function of local government', chair of the Independent Commission on Local Government Finance, Darra Singh, has claimed.

Mr Singh told The MJ: ‘The current system of local government finance is unsustainable – something has got to give.'
