Bringing specialist care technology into the homes of older people will save councils up to £270m, and help them avoid expensive care fees, the LGA has claimed.

By improving joint work with hospitals and installing telecare equipment in the homes of people with long-term conditions, the LGA claimed councils could save cash and enable people to keep their homes.
