Diary doesn't go in a lot for the whole ‘PC gone mad!' brigade aside from Eric. These days, avowed saviours of the realm offering ‘common sense solutions' are 10 a penny – and giving a most excellent demonstration of the fact that whatever it is, common sense isn't particularly common.

 This week's latest case of political correctness gone made comes from Mevagissey, a Cornish fishing village. Back in 2005, the then Restormel BC was slammed by locals for its ‘ludicrous' PC gone mad' mentality in renaming a park that had become popularly known as ‘Hitler's Walk'.
