Dundee City Council has been forced to order a second Christmas tree after the first delivery turned up looking withered and discoloured.

The less-than-healthy looking tree – centrepiece of the council's festive decorations – quickly became a laughing stock on social media, forcing staff into swift remedial action before the official switching on of the Christmas lights.
