Statistics body could respond to devolution agenda

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is consulting on whether to produce regional updated figures to reflect the English devolution agenda.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is consulting on whether to produce regional updated figures to reflect the English devolution agenda.

In its latest figures for last month, the ONS said it was considering producing a country and regional public sector finances publication, adding: ‘In the current climate of devolution there is growing demand for sub-national statistics and, in an effort to understand these demands, we have begun looking into the feasibility of producing such statistics … comprising Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the nine statistical territories of England.'
